| flyWithCE Logbook |
| |
| flyWithCE Logbook is
application that is sold together with flyWithCE
Flight Recorder. In the future program will be updated with new
interesting features which will further extend usability of the device. |

Flight transfer |
| |
This is simple program with which you will download
flights from flyWithCE Flight Recorder to your personal computer. Like
Flight Recorder this software is also very easy to use. You just connect
and turn on the device, start the program and press Connect button.
Program will automatically search for Flight Recorder and download all
new flights. All new flights will be automatically transferred to
personal computer and will be stored as standard IGC files to hard
drive. |
| |
Simple logbook and IGC file import |
| |
Program will display list of downloaded flights. You will be able to
sort and group flights. Some flight information can be changed (like
flight status, distance flown and comments). Program will also sum
flight hours and kilometers for all and selected flights. |
| |
Program can import IGC files recorded with other flight recorders. |
View and share flights |
Flights can be viewed in your favorite IGC file viewer. You just
select the flight from the list and press Open button and Logbook program will open installed IGC analysis software with
selected flight. |
| |
There is also a
free solution (because most IGC viewers are not free). You can install
Google Earth
program and Logbook program will generate KML file. The
procedure is similar as for the IGC files and you will be able to check
your flight in Google Earth. |
One of the problems is when you would like to show the flight to a
friend who is not a glider pilot and does not have IGC viewer installed.
In that case you can export KML file which can be viewed in Google Earth
program. Or you can save file on HTML format and use Google Maps
services. You will be able to view flights on any PC and any operating
system. The only requirement is Internet connection. |
You can also embed Google Map flight into your web page. |

Enter IGC data (flight
declaration) |
| |
Start of each IGC file holds information about the
pilot, copilot, plane and airport. This information can be easily
updated. Program keeps local database which helps when you are changing
flight declaration. This means that you enter each pilot, plane or
airport information just once. Next time you will be able to choose this
information from the pre-prepared list. |
| |
You can also import the waypoint and task database and use this
information in IGC declaration. |

Online and offline operation |
| |
Some information (flight declarations and signed
flights) are stored on flyWithCE web server. This information is later
used for signing flights or sometimes flight verification. You do not
have to be connected to the Internet all the time, because program has
built in advanced synchronization routines. |
| |
Signing flights |
| |
Downloaded flight is sent to the server, which will search for
appropriate flight declaration and sign flight. Signed IGC file is then
returned to local PC and stored on local hard drive. This fill can be
then used for competitions like OLC. Separate verification utility is
also provided and with this utility you can verify if file is valid.
Requirement: Internet connection is needed if you would like to sign
flights. |
