possibility to install and register Navigator to memory cad and
settings import function form Glide Navigator II program. Last
feature will enable you to simplify the transition from Glide
Navigator II to flyWithCE Navigator. Check also other great
features that have been added to the Navigator program. |
|
|
| 2. Memory
card installation |
| Memory card installation |
| With version 2.21 you can easily transfer Navigator
from main memory to memory card (usually SD or Compact
Flash memory card). This will preserve main memory space and
all your files together with program, settings and
recorded flights will
be stored on one memory card. |
|
| To install the program from memory card you just
have to plug in the memory card and Navigator menu
option will be added to the Start - Programs - flyWithCE menu. Use this shortcut to
run Navigator program from memory card. |
|
| Some pilots are using Pocket PC exclusively for
flying and after long winter they find out that because
of the empty battery all the programs and databases were
lost. Memory card installation will prevent that. All
programs, databases and settings will be preserved and
you will just have to recharge the Pocket PC battery. |
|
| Register Navigator to memory
card |
| New navigator will enable you to register program to
memory card. This will enable easy device upgrade, where
you will just unplug the memory card from the old device
and insert it into the new device. |
|
| New registration codes are displayed In Register
dialog when you have memory card inserted. Use this code
while ordering Navigator and registration key will be
tied to the memory card. This means that Navigator will
work if you have this memory card inserted in Pocket PC.
This feature is working on Pocket PC devices with
operating system version Windows Mobile 2003 or newer. |
|
| Order Navigator on memory card |
| You can now order flyWithCE Navigator on
the memory
card. Navigator will be preinstalled and registered. You
will only have to add your database files you are ready

Other improvements |
| Default settings |
| New version of Navigator sets up most settings at
installation. User should check sector, unit and IGC
file settings. If you would like to preset settings to
default values, than choose one of the predefined layout
options: |
|
Recreational - for recreational flying where you do
not use tasks |
| Task &
Competition - for cross country or competition
flying where you use tasks |
|
| After you select this option most settings will be
changed to predefined (install time) values. It will not
change instrument, glider, unit and IGC file settings. |
|
| Empty airspaces |
| In some databases airspaces are filled with color.
This looks nice, but it will hide the terrain
underneath. Because of that third state was added to the
airspace button In the MC/BAL window. Now you can switch
between: |
| AS
Hide - hide airspaces |
| AS
Show - show airspaces |
| AS
Borders - display only airspace borders |
|
| Maximal zoom level in Auto zoom
function |
|
When using Auto zoom function, program will increase
zoom level until the maximum zoom is reached. Sometimes
this is not necessary and because of that in new version
you can specify which will be the maximum zoom level
used for Auto zoom function. You will find this setting
in the Settings dialog window on the General tab. |
|
| Better airspace and airport
display |
| Longer airspace names can be displayed in the
Airspace Information window. Airport elevation is now
displayed in the Airport Information window. |
|
| Tim Newport-Peace airspace
format |
| Navigator can now use airspace files
created in Tim Newport-Peace format. |
|
| IGC file recording |
|
Ground speed was added to
the IGC file. |

The installation is simple - download the Navigator to the PC, connect
the Pocket PC to your PC and run the installation. After the
installation most of the settings you have set up before will be
preserved. The only setting that you will have to update is the MapText
boxes. You will have to select which parameters you would like to see on
both the Map and the Parameters screen. Later you can also reposition
them on the screen as described already. |
