Navigator version 3.00 |
|
Main new feature of the Navigator version 3.00 are bitmap (raster) maps
that you can now use as the background on the map page. You can use
commercially available bitmap maps or you can scan your own (paper)
maps. Appearance of the Map and Parameters window has also been updated.
For all pilots who take part of the on-line championship the logging of
the secure IGC file is also an interesting feature. |
|
| 2. Raster
(bitmap) maps |
| Bitmap maps |
| Paper maps are updated regularly and in
some countries these maps are also available on-line.
Because of that they are the most accurate VFR maps that
you can use in the air. The latest version of the
Navigator also allows you to use the as a background on
the map screen. Bitmap map will be scaled and rotated
according to the program settings. To simplify these
procedures two new controls were added: |
| |
Toggle map - you can assign this function to
hardware key and than change between different map
settings. |
| |
MC BAL Window - in the bottom right button
you can now select the appropriate map background. |
| |
| Whenever you are switching
between maps you have option to select no map, elevation
map, differential map and bitmap map. |
|
| Do it yourself |
| If digital map for your area is not
available and you are used to working with bitmap
editing programs than it is simple to scan and prepare
BMP bitmap file with additional calibration information. Detailed step by step instructions are available on the
Navigator page. |

only in for registered users or in Simulator mode. |

Secure IGC file |
| Security record at the end of the IGC file ensure that the
file is intact and that it was not changed. New version of the
Navigator adds this information at the end of the IGC flight
recording when the glider stops or when you exit the program.
You can verify the authenticity of the IGC recording by using
simple program VALI-FWC.EXE, that is
available on the Download page. |
|
| This means that you can use the flight recording for
on-line
championship (OLC) or in some countries also for competitions. |
| |
| IGC file recording is available only for
registered users. |
|
|
| 4. New
status line |
|
New status line was added
to the Map and Parameters screen. The reason for that is
to improve the visibility and to offer new information
to the pilot. Existing map scale and map orientation
were not changed. But there are two changes in the
status line: |
|
| GPS status |
| GPS status is new and is similar
to one normally used on Pocket PC devices. If dark G is
displayed on white square, than GPS signal is OK. In
case of an error (no signal or signal not recognized),
than dark square with white G is displayed. |
|
| IGC recording status |
| If recording is enabled than R is
displayed. If program is recording than dark R is
displayed on white square. |
|
| Battery status |
|
There is existing MapText
that would show you the status of the battery. But this
means that it will take some Map space or you will have
to jump to Parameters page to check the battery value.
Instead of that the battery status is now displayed also
in the status line. |
|
|
The statuses are external
power, 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and the battery with
exclamation sign signals also that there is less than
10% of the battery left. |
